Daffodil Festival Weekend - April 29 - May 1, 2011 From early-April to mid-May, over three million daffodils of every color, shape and size will bloom on Nantucket Island. This blossoming, and the advent of spring itself, is the focal point of the Nantucket Annual Daffodil Festival. The Festival’s grand event, held is the Antique Car Parade, featuring over 100 daffodil-bedecked antique cars (pre-registration necessary for participation.) After winding through town and across the island to the charming village of Siasconset, participants join residents and visitors for the Daffodil Tailgate Picnic. Other highlights include the Nantucket Garden Club’s Daffodil Show, The Annual Daffy Dog Parade, Children’s Daffodil Parade and The Daffy Hat Pageant. Nantucket Race Week August 13 - 20 2011
Nantucket Race Week is an eight-day experience that marshals the entire Nantucket community together in a fun-filled week of regattas, awards ceremonies, and parties. The week is hosted by Nantucket Yacht Club and Great Harbor Yacht Club to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing, and is the primary fund-raising event of the year for Nantucket Community Sailing. The races provide sport for everyone from young sailors in Optimists and 420s, families in their Nantucket one designs, owners of classic wooden sailboats, to grand prix racers at the top of their profession. The racing begins on Saturday, August 13, 2011 with racing and social events daily through Sunday, August 21, 2011. Nantucket Race Week is proud to be a Clean Regatta as certified by Sailors for the Sea.

The 39th annual Opera House Cup Regatta will be Sunday, August 21, 2011 The Opera House Cup Regatta is a cherished tradition, held on the third Sunday of August on Nantucket. The Opera House Cup Regatta was the first all-wooden, single-hulled classic boat regatta on the East Coast, and it attracts some of the finest sailboats in the country.

Nantucket Christmas Stroll Weekend November 25 - December 31, 2011 Nantucket is particularly enchanting during the holiday season, when New England’s finest traditions come alive for the Annual Christmas Stroll Weekend, December 2 - 4, 2011, part of Nantucket Noel a month-long celebration organized by the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce. The Annual Christmas Stroll Weekend is a community holiday celebration attracting visitors from around the world. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive to the island via a Coast Guard vessel and ride up Main Street in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by the Town Crier. Carolers in Victorian costumes, bell ringers, student choirs and other musicians perform on the Main Street stage as well as stroll through town performing, all the while visitors can enjoy Nantucket’s unique shops and restaurants.
